Biography

Skyeler Icke Voss is a professional equestrian specializing in the sport of three-day Eventing. She is based at Angelica Run Farm, a family run boarding and training facility located in the heart of Northern Virginia that has been in operation for over 30 years.

Skyeler began riding at the age of 4 and began actively competing at 5 when she acquired her first pony. Goldchip was given to her by her aunt, Patty Icke, on her 5th birthday. Together they learned the ups and downs of competition on the local hunter circuits. At age 7, Skyeler joined Pony Club where she caught on to the sport of Eventing. She went on to win the USPC Calvary award three times demonstrating a pony clubbers success in international competition. She was a long standing member of the Difficult Run Pony Club and still teaches for the Virginia Region.

During the last 20 years, she has trained and competed 8 different horses through the international levels including multiple advanced horse trials and CCI*** as well as qualifying for the Rolex CCI****. She represented Area 2 three times at the North American Young Riders Championships which is the US equivalent to the junior Olympics, taking home the team gold in 2003. She has been on the US team long list for several years and in 2004 was chosen for the United States Developing Riders Program. In 2004, she was the highest placed young rider at the Foxhall CCI*** National Championship winning the prestigious Markam Trophy. In 2008, Skyeler was nationally ranked on the top 50 Event riders in the country and rode Tika to the number 4 position on the Top 10 Mare of the Year National Leaderboard.

Skyeler has been privileged to train under some of the world's best Eventing athletes which include James Wofford, Phillip Dutton, Stuart Black, and Jan Byyny. She worked with Canadian Team Rider Stuart Black, for 10 years managing his Providence Farm in 2007. Currently, Skyeler is training with Jan Byyny, one of the leading lady event riders in the country, who has represented the United States in many team competitions. In dressage, Skyeler works with Sallie Spenard, a Grand Prix dressage rider, who has also competed in the top levels of Eventing.
